I'm the person you call when something isn't quite working and you can't see why
Hey, I'm Louisa!
“What do you actually do?”
I get asked this a lot, so here’s the simple answer.
I’m a creative business mentor, consultant and facilitator. I work with Creatives and Leaders who are awesome at what they do but something isn’t quite connecting.
I listen to what you say but I pay attention to what you mean. That’s usually the part people value most.
If you're a creative...
You’re amazing at what you do, that’s not the problem. The problem is the business side doesn’t play to your strengths. Maybe you’re not attracting the right clients, your positioning feels a bit all over the place or maybe you’ve got lots of ideas but you don’t know what to do first or how to execute them.
If you're a leader...
You’re experienced, you know what you are doing but you’ve got to that point where you need a proper thinking partner. Someone who will be straight with you, push back when needed, share different perspectives, challenge your thinking and give ideas based on experience.
In reality, that means untangling whatever’s got messy, making the decision that’s been sitting in the back of your head for months, and working out what to actually focus on.
This is where I come in.
I ask the questions you haven’t yet considered. I play devil’s advocate (in a good way) and I help you figure out what’s actually going on and what to do about it. That’s usually the part people didn’t realise they needed and the part they value most.
That typically means:
- Getting clear on where you are headed, what you want to achieve and why it hasn’t been happening
- Untangling your offers, sharpening your positioning or strengthening your foundations in a way that works for you
- Finally making that decision that has been holding you back because you’ve been going round in circles
Coaching versus mentoring
People often refer to me as a business coach because of how I work but there’s a real difference. A coach will be impartial and will guide you to your own answers. A mentor and consultant brings experience and actually tells you what they think.
I do both! I will give you my perspective but I will also help you think it through rather than just telling you.
"She was direct, telling me where my marketing wasn't doing anything to win clients. Nobody likes to hear things like that but she wasn't harsh or nasty. It was just clear and helpful. One small change on my homepage won me a client within a few days."

A bit about me
I’ve been self-employed since 2017 and prior to that, I worked in both corporate and SME environments in both the UK and overseas for over 15+ years. I have experience across HR, recruitment, strategy, analytical-based roles and executive support gained in companies like Standard Life, Blackstar Amplification, Kellogg’s and Mercedes-Benz High Performance Engines.
What that all means is that I’m used to working with well-known brands, different cultures in terms of how people work, as well as with people at different levels and I’m really good at seeing the bigger picture as well as the detail.
I’m neurodivergent, I’m solo-parenting and my son is autistic. My lived and professional experiences shape my approach to work and life. It’s why I take a holistic approach and clients often tell me they feel seen, understood and not just managed.
I’m based in the North West of England and work with clients across the UK and globally. I also co-host a podcast called Exploring Inclusive Tourism with my friend, Amy Walters.

"I booked a consultancy call with Louisa to discuss some strategic business growth plans, and WOW am I glad I did. I have no idea how she packed so much value and insight into just an hour's call. I came away buzzing with ideas and knew that I had definitely made the right decision.

Questions people ask before getting in touch
-
What's the difference between a mentor, consultant and coach?
A coach typically remains impartial, guiding you to discover your own solutions. A mentor and consultant brings their own experience and will actually tell you what they think. I do a blend of the two.
If you've stumbled across my site because you're looking for a business coach, it's still worth us having a conversation because you might find that the approach I take works better for you.
-
Do you work with Creatives?
Yes! Creatives often come to me because I understand how they think and work. Especially those who are awesome at what they do but struggle with the business side of things: marketing, positioning, attracting the right clients, making difficult decisions, the customer journey/experience, etc.
I also understand the need for flexible, fluid approaches.
-
Do you work with Leaders?
Yes! Leaders come to me because I understand their world. They want a proper thinking partner, someone with real commercial experience who'll challenge their thinking, not just agree with them.
-
What if I'm neurodivergent?
I'm neurodivergent too. I understand that it is important to work in a way that best fits our brains rather than rigid approaches.
-
Where are you based?
I'm based in the North West of England. My clients are often based across the UK and I also work with clients overseas.
