I'm the person you call when you're too close to your own business to see it clearly.
I'm Louisa!
A business mentor, consultant and facilitator for creatives and leaders who are brilliant at what they do but stuck on the business side.
I bring 15+ years of commercial experience across corporate and SME environments – including HR, recruitment, strategy and executive support at companies like Standard Life, Kellogg’s and Mercedes-Benz High Performance Engines. I’ve been self-employed since 2017.
That combination means I understand both how businesses actually work and how creative and entrepreneurial minds think. I spot patterns, ask the questions you haven’t considered, and tell you what you genuinely need to hear, not what’s comfortable.
Creatives come to me when the business side isn’t playing to their strengths. The work is good but the positioning, pricing and client attraction aren’t. They need someone who thinks like them but can also see the commercial picture clearly.
Leaders come to me when they need a proper thinking partner. Someone with real commercial experience who’ll challenge their assumptions, push back when needed, and tell them what they actually need to hear.
This is where I come in.
In practice that means getting clear on where you’re headed and why it hasn’t been happening, untangling your offers, sharpening your positioning, or finally making that decision you’ve been avoiding for months.
I ask the questions you haven’t considered. I play devil’s advocate. I tell you what I genuinely think, not what’s comfortable to hear.
That’s usually the part people didn’t realise they needed and the part they value most:
- Getting clear on where you are headed, what you want to achieve and why it hasn’t been happening
- Untangling your offers, sharpening your positioning or strengthening your foundations in a way that works for you
- Finally making that decision that has been holding you back because you’ve been going round in circles
Coaching versus mentoring
People often call me a business coach but there’s an important difference. A coach stays impartial and guides you to your own answers. A mentor and consultant brings their own experience and tells you what they actually think.
I do both. I’ll give you my honest perspective and I’ll help you think it through rather than just handing you an answer or leaving you to figure it out alone.
"She was direct, telling me where my marketing wasn't doing anything to win clients. Nobody likes to hear things like that but she wasn't harsh or nasty. It was just clear and helpful. One small change on my homepage won me a client within a few days."
Matt Drzymala, Indelible Think Copywriting
A bit about me
I’m based in the North West of England and work with clients across the UK and globally.
I’m neurodivergent, I’m solo parenting and my son is autistic. My lived and professional experiences shape how I work. It’s why clients often tell me they feel genuinely understood, not just managed.
I also co-host a podcast called Exploring Inclusive Tourism with my friend, Amy Walters.
What clients say
"Her breadth of knowledge and experience is always a constant source of surprise to me — in a good way. She demonstrates a genuine desire to know and understand the person she's speaking to."
Gillian Jones, Copywriter
"I booked a consultancy call with Louisa to discuss some strategic business growth plans, and WOW am I glad I did. I have no idea how she packed so much value and insight into just an hour's call. I came away buzzing with ideas and knew that I had definitely made the right decision.
Eleanor Goold, Copywriter
"I walked away with a lot more help than I was expecting."
Willow Paule, Marketing Strategist

Questions people ask before getting in touch
-
What's the difference between a mentor, consultant and coach?
A coach typically remains impartial, guiding you to discover your own solutions. A mentor and consultant brings their own experience and will actually tell you what they think. I do a blend of the two.
If you've stumbled across my site because you're looking for a business coach, it's still worth us having a conversation because you might find that the approach I take works better for you.
-
Do you work with Creatives?
Yes! Creatives often come to me because I understand how they think and work. Especially those who are awesome at what they do but struggle with the business side of things: marketing, positioning, attracting the right clients, making difficult decisions, the customer journey/experience, etc.
I also understand the need for flexible, fluid approaches.
-
Do you work with Leaders?
Yes! Leaders come to me because I understand their world. They want a proper thinking partner, someone with real commercial experience who'll challenge their thinking, not just agree with them.
-
What if I'm neurodivergent?
I'm neurodivergent too. I understand that it is important to work in a way that best fits our brains rather than rigid approaches.
-
Where are you based?
I'm based in the North West of England. My clients are often based across the UK and I also work with clients overseas.
